The Movement of the First and the RUSSIA EXPO Directorate will hold a ceremonial line-up dedicated to the Great Victory Day celebration

On May 9, the RUSSIA EXPO at VDNH will host a ceremonial line-up organized by the Movement of the First and the RUSSIA EXPO Directorate. As part of the event, which will be held at the Stone Flower fountain, the First will tell about their ancestors - participants of the Great Patriotic War. The participants of the Movement will recount the feats that their family members performed in the name of the Great Victory: those who fought hard battles on the front line, carried wounded soldiers from under shelling, worked at open-hearth furnaces and helped the country in the rear.

The significant event will be joined by parents and mentors of the Movement participants, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers, heroes of the special military operation, activists of youth patriotic organizations, as well as a combined orchestra of more than 600 musicians. The participants of the event will remember their Heroes and once again feel that their family chronicles are an integral part of the common history. A history that was valiantly and courageously created by our ancestors. After the solemn line-up there will be a commemorative parade, which all guests of the RUSSIA EXPO will be able to join, and the procession will end with a festive concert on the main stage of VDNH.

The Movement of the First will also organize a number of other events to mark the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. For example, with the support of the YUNARMYA (lit. YOUTH ARMY) the Movement of the First will show military-patriotic performances in 8 cities of our country. The theatrical performances will narrate the stories of war heroes who committed brave deeds in their youth. And within the framework of the campaign "Victory Windows" the First together with their mentors and parents decorate the windows of their apartments, houses, educational institutions and primary branches of the Movement with drawings, stencils, photos dedicated to Victory Day. In addition, schoolchildren and students across Russia will take part in ceremonial line-ups, where they will proudly hold portraits of their heroic relatives, visit museums, hold patriotic lessons of courage, sing songs of the war years and much more.

By holding such events, the Movement helps the younger generation realize the value of historical memory in shaping modern society. The First all over Russia keep and multiply the achievements of their ancestors and are looking up to their feats and values.

All-Russian public and state movement of children and youth Movement of the First is the largest community of children, teenagers and adults in the Russian Federation, uniting state and public institutions to form a unified educational environment for schoolchildren and students of professional educational organizations.

 More than 6 million people are members of the Movement of the First. More than 46,000 primary branches operate on a regular basis in 89 regions of Russia. In 2023, the Movement's activities covered more than 7 million people. 

The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. Throughout the Exposition, cultural events, a rich business and educational program await the guests. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors. More than 12 million people have already visited the Exposition. The International RUSSIA EXPO takes place on the territory of VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to July 8.
