The head of the Chuvash Republic Oleg Nikolaev reminded about the rich heritage of the region and spoke about modern achievements that will be presented at the RUSSIA EXPO.

"For many centuries our people have been contributing to the common cause of the development of Russian statehood. We are grateful and proud to be part of the big family of the peoples of Russia", — Oleg Nikolayev noted.

He emphasised that Chuvashia has given the country many outstanding people: among them the cosmonaut "number three" Andriyan Nikolayev, famous ballerina Nadezhda Pavlova, shipbuilder Alexei Krylov, designer of the first Arctic aircraft in the world Nikolai Bazenkov.

The head of Chuvashia also spoke about its multifaceted culture, calling the republic the land of 100 thousand songs, 100 thousand words and 100 thousand embroideries.

"It is especially pleasant that the unique traditions of Chuvash embroidery were able to unite the whole country in the project "Embroidered Map of Russia", — added Oleg Nikolaev.

Now Chuvashia is creating new technologies and breakthrough developments that are featured in key facilities, including the Crimean energy bridge and the nuclear icebreaker "Arktika". All spheres of industry are developing here: solar batteries, tractors, chemical products, knitted goods, and everyone’s favourite — chocolate.

It will be possible to learn more about the life and successes of the republic in various fields at the International RUSSIA EXPO, which will be opened at VDNH in Moscow on November 4. All Russian regions will showcase their developments, cultural and economic potential at the exposition. Authorities, public organizations and large corporations also prepare their stands. RUSSIA EXPO will run until April 12. An extensive educational, business and entertainment program is planned for visitors.
