Urban planning and architectural code of the country to be discussed at the National Centre RUSSIA
On July 30, the National Centre RUSSIA will host a round table discussion entitled "Urban Planning and Architectural Code of Russia," which will be the concluding event of the large-scale exposition "The Birth of Scale." The event will bring together leading industry experts to review the results of the exposition and to identify directions for the development of Russian architecture in the 21st century.
The discussion will focus on the key issues of shaping the modern architectural legacy and the role of the state in this process. Particular attention will be paid to developing unified approaches to urban planning and visual communications as fundamental conditions for the sustainable development of Russian cities and regions. These topics are especially relevant in the context of preserving national identity and creating a comfortable living environment.
The round table programme covers a wide range of current topics. Participants will discuss the impact of urban design on demographic processes and migration flows, and consider visual communications as a powerful tool for strengthening national unity. Of special interest is the expert study by the consulting group "Polylog," which raises the question of establishing a unified centre for architectural management.
A separate section will be devoted to the implementation of the instructions of President of Russia Vladimir Putin on preserving the unique character of national architecture, as well as on the regional experience of shaping visual identity.
Outstanding representatives of the architectural community and public officials have been invited to participate in the discussion:
- Andrei Chernikhov, Chief Curator of the exposition "The Birth of Scale";
- Nikita Setov, Deputy Director General of the "Polylog" consulting group;
- Oleg Shapiro, co-founder of the Wowhaus bureau;
- Dmitry Shvidkovsky, Rector of the Moscow Architectural Institute (MARCHI);
- Alexander Panin, expert in spatial development, Moscow State University;
- Andrei Melentyev, head of the administration, National Centre RUSSIA;
- Valery Limarenko, Governor of the Sakhalin Region;
- Denis Pushilin, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
The moderator of the discussion will be Anton Finogenov, Director of Urban Environment Development at DOM.RF.
The round table will become a meaningful dialogue, the results of which may determine the future development of the Russian architectural school. Participants will be able not only to summarise the three-month work of the exposition "The Birth of Scale," but also to outline concrete steps towards shaping a recognisable architectural image of Russian cities.
