Young visitors to the exposition were given a comic book about Kherson the Raccoon
"The Journey of Kherson the Raccoon: From New Regions
to Moscow" comic book was presented at the RUSSIA EXPO. This is a story
about the famous raccoon, which was rescued by Russian military servicemen.
The author of the comic book - journalist, member of the
Civic Chamber of Russia Alexander Malkevich - met with the visitors. He
presented it to the young guests.
"In the fall of 2022, the raccoon was rescued by our
soldiers from the city of Kherson. It received the call sign
"Kherson". It became a kind of meme - there was a lot of different
merch, chevrons with a raccoon as a symbol of resistance to the enemy. At the
end of last year Kherson children asked at a meeting organized by the Ministry
of Youth Policy of Kherson region - why do we not have our own proper comics?
There is a lot of propaganda literature on that side, including children's
literature, which lies dirty about us and our values. It gave me an idea, I
came up with the idea, wrote a script, and my familiar artists drew the
adventures of Kherson the Raccoon," said Alexander Malkevich.
According to the author, the raccoon makes a whole journey
through Kherson, Zaporozhye regions, passes through the LPR and DPR. And
finally gets to Moscow to address the whole country from the Kremlin and
deliver the letters of the heroic soldiers. In each city where the raccoon
finds himself, he sees the beauty, the real changes that are taking place in
the new regions of our country.
Igor Astranin, Minister of Youth Policy of the Kherson
region, emphasized that the comic book is especially important as a replacement
of hostile literature from the libraries of the new regions.
