The Da Vinci Code and beyond: the National Centre RUSSIA to discuss how digital tools shape our perception of art
The
author’s event "From Brush to Code: How Technology Changes the Perception of Art" will take place on July 24 at the National Centre RUSSIA as part
of the educational project "Thursday. Development." In an open
discussion format, participants will explore the impact of IT tools on the
modern museum industry and cultural education.
The event
will bring together experts from the country’s leading museums. Together with
the audience, they will reflect on the interplay between digital technologies
and the world of art, discussing how augmented and virtual reality are
transforming traditional expositions and how neural networks can assist in
restoring lost masterpieces or even co-creating new forms of art together with
humans.
Special
focus will be placed on the experience of perceiving art and the prospects for
museum development in the digital age. Guests will not only hear forecasts for
the future of the museum industry, but will also see how technology is already
changing the rules: experts will speak about interactive guides and global
online collections that erase borders between countries and cultures. Attendees
will also be introduced to digital solutions that bring art closer and make it
more accessible for diverse audiences – from schoolchildren to people with
disabilities.
The
original educational project of the National Centre RUSSIA, "Thursday.
Development," is a platform for lively dialogue and the exchange of ideas
through engaging science and culture-oriented lectures. Experts present complex
and serious topics in a simple and captivating way, using vivid examples,
real-life stories and interactive elements. The main goals of the project are
to popularise scientific activity and the arts, and to promote spiritual and
moral values through formats that are accessible to a broad audience.
Participants
of past sessions have already explored the secrets of creating a successful
television project and the comics of the future, the impact of diet on body and
beauty, and the nuances of harmonious interaction between humans and the animal
world, among many other important topics. One of the audience’s favourites is
the regular programme "What to Read" – part of the "Thursday.
Development" project – hosted by its permanent moderator, Alexei
Chesnakov, Head of the Scientific Council of the Centre for Political
Conjuncture, Professor at the National Research University Higher School of
Economics, and author of the Telegram channel "Chesnakov.Library."
