The National Centre team reviews preparations for the branch in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic
On 26 June,
a team from the National Centre RUSSIA, led by its Director General Natalia
Virtuozova, visited the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. They met with the Head of
the Republic, Kazbek Kokov, and visited the future National Centre RUSSIA
building in Nalchik.
"Sergei
Vladilenovich Kiriyenko and Maxim Stanislavovich Oreshkin have approved eight
concepts for National Centre RUSSIA branches. One of them — the first branch in
the Caucasus — will open in the capital of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic,
the wonderful city of Nalchik. This is especially important to us because
creating spaces in the regions is a directive from our President Vladimir
Vladimirovich Putin. The project is at an advanced stage of readiness and meets
our requirements as fully as possible, both in terms of content and the quality
of implementation. In addition, the future branch is located in the very centre
of the city, where a unified architectural ensemble is taking shape. The
President always says that we must preserve what we inherited from our great
ancestors, build upon it and move forward. The branch in Nalchik reflects this
approach: it is being carefully integrated into the city’s historic environment
and is creating a modern public space for residents and visitors to the
republic. I would like to thank Kazbek Valeryevich Kokov and his team for their
active involvement in developing the branch," Natalia Virtuozova said.
The Head of
the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Kazbek Kokov, said that the National Centre
RUSSIA branch in Nalchik would be located on Shogentsukov Avenue, opposite the
Government House and Concord Square, in the very heart of the capital of
Kabardino-Balkaria. During the meeting with Natalia Virtuozova, they discussed
key issues concerning the implementation of the project. According to him, the
building is currently 85% complete and will house expositions, concert and
conference halls, Gastronomic Rows, the Department Store and much more.
"We
expect the National Centre RUSSIA in Nalchik to become a venue for regional,
national and international forums in culture, science, education and tourism. I
am confident that our cooperation will be productive and will result in the
creation of the first vibrant and atmospheric National Centre RUSSIA venue in
the North Caucasus. This will help expand the tourism potential of the
republic, which is renowned for its hospitality and friendly attitude towards
tourists, our guests and friends, who come to us from all over the country.
And, of course, we are delighted to welcome them!" Kazbek Kokov said.
The concept
of the future space is built around the image of Mount Elbrus as the main
symbol of the Republic. The highest point in Russia and Europe will become not
only a recognisable visual symbol but also the basis of the visitor route: the
exposition is divided into two halls — the "Southern Slope" and the
"Northern Slope" — reflecting different aspects of the region. One is
warm, hospitable and cultural, while the other is more austere, constructive
and future-oriented. The route is designed to lead visitors from an emotional
introduction to Kabardino-Balkaria towards an understanding of its scale,
projects and development prospects. An important part of the exposition will be
devoted to the people of the region and their contribution to the development
of the republic and the country, from culture and tourism to industry, science
and medicine. A separate intimate section will tell the stories of heroes of
the special military operation.
