SIBUR presented industrial AI solutions at the House of Polymers
Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian
Federation, visited a special exposition dedicated to artificial intelligence
technologies at SIBUR's House of Polymers. This is the largest educational and exposition space about oil and gas
chemistry in Russia. The opening of the AI exposition is timed to coincide with
Artificial Intelligence Day at the International RUSSIA EXPO.
SIBUR's new
thematic exposition is dedicated to achievements in the field of artificial
intelligence. The company's digital transformation is aimed at improving the
efficiency of SIBUR's production and business processes and their
digitalization, with an accumulated annual economic effect of more than 45
billion rubles. Half of this effect was achieved through artificial
intelligence-based solutions.
The
delegation participants were presented with solutions that are actively used at
SIBUR enterprises to improve labour productivity and production efficiency,
ensure high product quality and industrial safety. While inspecting the
exposition, Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the expediency of extending SIBUR's
experience and solutions to other industries, for example, he pointed out the
possibility of applying the technologies of intelligent diagnostics of steam
pipelines for heat insulation safety in the housing and utilities sector.
SIBUR
holding has more than 25 production sites with tens of thousands of equipment
units. This makes tools for remote monitoring, continuous analysis and
decision-making in the area of both process regimes maintenance and ensuring
the reliability of plant operation highly demanded. The exposition showcases
intelligent systems that combine AI and industrial Internet of Things tools to
make the best decisions in production management.
"The
creation and implementation of AI-based tools, including generative tools, is
among the priority areas of SIBUR's digital transformation. To analyze and
pilot new solutions, the company has created innovation laboratories, and now
we have more than 70 new hypotheses in our portfolio. Our reliance on the use
of AI has paid off: we are seeing a significant increase in process efficiency,
labour productivity, efficiency and accuracy of business decision-making,"
said Alisa Melnikova, SIBUR's director for digital and information
technologies.
In addition
to the new exposition, guests of the pavilion got acquainted with the main
exposition of the House of Polymers dedicated to the achievements of Russian
oil and gas chemistry. Today Russia is among the world's leading producers of
modern synthetic materials. Russia's share in some segments of the world market
exceeds 25%.
House of Polymers is located in Pavilion No. 12 at the VDNH in Moscow. After the RUSSIA EXPO is over, the pavilion will continue its work as a scientific and educational space.
We would like to remind you that the plenary session "Artificial Intelligence - the Main Technology of the XXI Century" was held at the RUSSIA EXPO. There, it was announced that Russia is among the top 10 leading countries in terms of total computing power, and the overall level of implementation of artificial intelligence in priority areas of the economy amounted to 31.5%.
The first event to be held at the Russia National Centre, which is being established by the order of President Vladimir Putin, will be the International Science Fiction Symposium and Exhibition "Inventing the Future". The symposium will take place from November 4 to 6.
Tomorrow, the International RUSSIA EXPO will conclude its work. From November 2023 to July 2024, it was visited by more than 18 million guests.
Every day, for eight months, the RUSSIA EXPO delighted guests and gave unforgettable emotions.
