Maria Kostyuk will present initiatives for the development of the Jewish Autonomous region
The string of meetings with the heads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation "Platform of the Future: Region-2030. 100 steps" keeps on going at the National Centre RUSSIA. There, heads of the regions talk about both priority steps towards a prosperous future and strategic objectives aimed at improving people's quality of life. On 30 September, Maria Kostyuk, head of the subject, will present the strategy for the integrated development of the Jewish Autonomous region (JAR).
The Jewish Autonomous region is the first Jewish national territorial entity in modern Russia, located in the south of the Far East. Despite its small size, the region has access to the Pacific Ocean through the Amur waterway, and the Trans-Siberian Railway passes through its territory. In addition, the region is rich in mineral reserves.
Maria Kostyuk will present a bunch of initiatives for the development of the region, united by the title "Small region — big steps".
The head of the JAR will talk about the development of social infrastructure: modernization of healthcare and education systems, including support for young medical professionals and an introduction of early career guidance programmes for schoolchildren; personnel training for strategically important industries in the region; and the first steps in the field of creative industries.
Attention will be paid to the development of the industrial potential of the Jewish Autonomous region. Now the region is actively developing the mining industry, and on behalf of the President of Russia, a new project is being launched there meant to create a graphite cluster and extract brucite. This will create new jobs for local residents, increase household incomes and strengthen the region's economy.
Large-scale logistics projects are being implemented in the JAR. The most important of them will be the construction of a road bridge between Russia and China. This will improve transport accessibility, which, in turn, will provide new opportunities for local manufacturers to expand their markets and attract new investors.
Due to the growing potential of the tourism industry — year-round sanatorium-resort recreation — an increase in the number of tourists is also predicted, which will have a positive impact on the region's economy.
The JAR is a region with great potential for the development of the renewable energy market. Maria Kostyuk will share plans for the construction of solar power plants. The implementation of these projects will increase the energy independence of the region and improve the environmental situation.
Comprehensive support programmes for participants and veterans of the Special Military Operation are underway in the Jewish Autonomous region. The region's key task in this respect is a retraining and employment of heroes by the state and municipal agencies to form a new managerial elite. This will allow the authorities to engage experienced and motivated specialists in activities for the benefit of the region.
Heads of the largest Russian companies, representatives of federal authorities and public organizations are invited to participate in the conversation with the head of the JAR Maria Kostyuk.
Meetings with the heads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation are held as part of the full-scale regional programme "Platform of the Future: Region-2030. 100 steps" run by the National Centre RUSSIA. Its implementation is carried out in accordance with Russia’s national development goals set by the President, and is based on the principle of prioritising the interests of each person, their self-realisation and improving the quality of life.
