Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region Mikhail Kotyukov proposed holding the first conference to review the results of the new "Capital of Financial Culture" project at the Krasnoyarsk branch of the National Centre RUSSIA. He announced this on March 12 at the awards ceremony for the finalists and winners of the First All-Russian "Capital of Financial Culture" contest, which took place at the National Centre RUSSIA in Moscow. As a result of the competition, the Krasnoyarsk region shared the honorary title of "Capital of Financial Culture" with the Nizhny Novgorod region.

"Today, we are at the National Centre RUSSIA. The Krasnoyarsk region was among the first five regions granted the right to establish a branch of the National Centre on its territory. This work is already underway. I propose that at the end of the first year of the 'Capital of Financial Culture' project, with the participation of all regions, finalists, and even those who did not make it to the final but are committed to working in this direction, we gather in Krasnoyarsk for the opening of the National Centre RUSSIA branch on the Yenisei and summarize the results of financial culture development in 2025. I look forward to welcoming everyone to the Yenisei," said Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region Mikhail Kotyukov.

The initiative of Mikhail Kotyukov was supported by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin.

"I want to support Mikhail Mikhailovich regarding his proposal to summarize the results of the 'Capital of Financial Culture' in Krasnoyarsk. Especially since I have not yet had the chance to visit Krasnoyarsk, and this conference will be an excellent reason to do so. That is why we are together in this initiative," noted Gleb Nikitin.

The All-Russian Contest "Capital of Financial Culture" is held as part of the implementation of the Strategy for Improving Financial Literacy and Developing Financial Culture until 2030. It is organized by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. The main goal of the initiative is to assess the achievements of Russian regions in financial literacy and identify the best projects aimed at its improvement and the development of financial culture among citizens. By order of the Government of the Russian Federation, the contest will be held annually.

The region awarded the title of "Capital of Financial Culture" receives informational, expert, and methodological support for implementing projects. It also becomes the venue for the annual final conference for exchanging experiences and presenting the best practices of Russian regions in financial literacy and financial culture development. The honorary status is assigned to the region for one year.
