Unique professions of the North: Arkhangelsk region will present the opportunities of the regional labour market

The RUSSIA EXPO hosts the Festival of Professions "Time of Opportunities", where 80 most demanded and promising professions in industry, agriculture, construction, transport, IT, science, social sphere are presented to the visitors. On March 22, the Arkhangelsk region will present its program at the festival. The guests will learn about the industrial and economic features of the region, as well as about the unique professions inherent to the Russian North.

Various masterclasses, lectures, meetings with employers and experts will be arranged for visitors. The events will be especially interesting for high school students and young people.

Opportunities of the labour market of the Arkhangelsk region favorably distinguish Pomorie from other regions of Russia, noted Igor Skubenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the region.

"The region is attractive for other subjects of the Russian Federation by the whole set of shipbuilding, working professions, advanced timber industry, pulp and paper enterprises, agriculture, - he said. - There's also a strong social block: education, healthcare".

The deputy chairman also noted that Pomorie is distinguished by a strong scientific and educational base and is constantly working to synchronize the demands of employers and the personnel being trained.

"Young people here can not only study, but also get a job, - Skubenko added. - Great opportunities are given by educational organizations of the federal level: NSMU, NAFU, institutions of the vocational school. And the practice of youth employment "plant - technological university", which is applied in Severodvinsk, when a young person, studying in the first - second year, practically becomes an employee of a particular enterprise and receives a decent salary, is recognized as one of the best in the country and is given as an example to other regions".

As Skubenko noted, young specialists are also attracted by regional salary opportunities. For example, the percentage northern bonus to the salary of employees coming to work in state institutions located in the Far North and in areas equated to it will now be credited in full amount from the first day of work in these territories.

"This is also quite an attractive condition, - he said. - In addition, today the enterprises of Pomorie have other social packages, which they also provide to specialists together with the regional and local authorities. The visitors will be told about all of this within the framework of the Arkhangelsk region program".

The final stage of the Festival of Professions will be the regional stage of the All-Russian Employment Fair to be held on April 12.

"The Arkhangelsk region annually takes an active part in the event; the whole region is involved in it. For the participants it is an opportunity to be immediately interviewed by employers, to find a job both in their region and outside it," Skubenko said.
