Role of the Azov-Black Sea macroregion in the country’s economy was discussedat the RUSSIA EXPO
On June 26, at the RUSSIA EXPO, as part of the Days of Regional Development of the Azov-Black Sea Macroregion, a plenary session titled "Space of the Future: Azov-Black Sea Macroregion" took place.
Participants discussed the formation of the macroregion's investment profile
with a focus on key drivers: transportation and housing infrastructure,
agro-industrial complex, tourism and extractive industries.
"For us, the development of southern Russia and the
Azov-Black Sea macroregion is of great importance. This cluster includes nine
entities, seven of which directly border the Black and Azov Seas, while the
other two - the Luhansk People's Republic and the Republic of Adygea - closely
border them and influence the development of this macroregion. The total
population of the entire cluster is 18 million people, and the total gross
regional product is 7 trillion rubles. In the President's Address to the
Federal Assembly, the task was set for a comprehensive approach to regional
development and the creation of the necessary infrastructure for these
purposes, which we will consistently pursue," emphasized the Deputy Prime
Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin.
The deputy prime minister noted that significant work is
being done to develop new regions. Over the past two years, nearly 20,000
facilities have been restored there, including 5,000 apartment buildings. Marat
Khusnullin also outlined future goals for the development of the Azov-Black Sea
macroregion. According to him, the urban development potential throughout the
cluster could grow to 95 million square meters by 2030, and housing
construction could reach 100 million square meters.
The Federation Council is actively involved in integrating the Donbass and Novorossiya regions into the country's socio-economic and legal space, noted the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Andrei Yatskin.
"At the initiative of the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina
Matviyenko, a corresponding council on integration was created, and several
dozen federal laws were adopted, including regional initiatives to support
small and medium-sized businesses in these territories and to support socially
significant and infrastructure organizations that provide vital services to the
population of these territories. We believe that this macroregion has a
powerful industrial, agricultural and transport potential, as well as tourism
infrastructure. We must invest in all of this because our people live there. We
consider this macroregion a significant object that should be separately
designated in the spatial development strategy being developed until
2030," said the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Andrei
Yatskin.
The plenary session was also attended by the Head of the
Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography (Rosreestr)
Oleg Skufinsky, the Chairman of the Board of the Avtodor State Company
Vyacheslav Petushenko, the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis
Pushilin, the Governor of the Zaporozhye region Yevgeny Balitsky, the Governor
of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo and the Vice-Governor of the Krasnodar
region Alexander Ruppel.
