On May 9, the Main Street Stage of the RUSSIA EXPO hosted a brass music festival "Fanfare of Victory — 2024". Children's and youth brass bands from five regions of Russia, choirs, dance ensembles and soloists performed compositions about the Great Patriotic War, waltzes and marches, lyrical and patriotic works, songs about Moscow, and together with other artists took part in a mass performance of David Tukhmanov's song "Victory Day".

The orchestras marched in a musical procession through the Exposition territory. More than 600 musicians took part in the festival. To the accompaniment of the combined brass band of the festival visitors took part in a dance event.

Nikolai Fedorovich Shishkin, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, reminded that strength is always in truth and unity.

"I congratulate you on the Victory holiday! This great holiday unites all our mighty, numerous Russian people. Our Motherland is strong in spirit, strong in faith and truth. All our people are united around our beloved President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin," said Nikolai Fedorovich.

The importance of preserving and strengthening historical memory was reiterated by veteran of the Great Patriotic War Ivan Petrovich Lytkin.

I thank you for the memory of that war, of those who gave their lives. If one person loses the memory — it is a tragedy of one person, but if our society lost the memory of the heroic glory of the state, Russia would have no future, it would cease to exist. As long as we live, we must remember," Ivan Petrovich urged.

The festival is a joint project of the Valery Khalilov Spiritual Society Association, the Russian National Museum of Music and the RUSSIA EXPO Directorate and is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Department of Culture of Moscow.
