The educational program of the International Diaghilev Festival was presented at the RUSSIA EXPO
Elena
Kolchanova, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Perm region, and Antonina
Sterina, coordinator and master of the Festival's Educational Program, spoke
about the realization of the Educational Program of the International Diaghilev
Festival 2024. This year the Educational Program will be held for the eighth
time and will offer participants new formats, topics and events.
As Elena
Kolchanova noted during her speech, over 400 people have participated in the
Educational Program since 2016, many of whom have already contributed to the
development of Russian culture.
"A
striking example of participants is the Euphoria Orchestra conducted by
Elizaveta Korneeva, a 2021 graduate of the Educational Program," Elena
Kolchanova said.
"In
just two years of existence, Euphoria has presented 11 world and nine Russian
musical premieres. This is our musical present. What is being created right
now. And we are very proud of our kids and happy to be involved in their
creative growth. This is what the Educational Program is all about," she
said.
Students of
creative universities and teachers of music schools can take part in the
program. Lectures and masterclasses are conducted by musicians, composers and
artists participating in the main program of the festival. Antonina Sterina
announced new formats that will be presented at the Educational Program in
2024.
The event
concluded with a performance by the Euphoria Orchestra conducted by Elizaveta
Korneeva. In 2023, the orchestra took part in the Main Program of the festival,
where it presented the premiere of the experimental open-air opera "Poem
of the Mountain", with music by Dmitry Mazurov. Fragments of this work, as
well as music by other contemporary composers, were heard by guests of the
RUSSIA EXPO.
The
Diaghilev Festival is one of the largest musical forums in Russia. It takes
place in Perm, where Sergei Diaghilev, an outstanding impresario and
propagandist of Russian culture, spent his childhood. The festival seeks to
strengthen and develop Diaghilev's traditions and explores various forms of
creative search, new theatrical language and contemporary trends in academic
music. The organizer of the Diaghilev Festival - 2024 is the Diaghilev
Foundation for the Support of Cultural Initiatives. The festival is supported
by the Ministry of Culture of the Perm region.
The first event to be held at the Russia National Centre, which is being established by the order of President Vladimir Putin, will be the International Science Fiction Symposium and Exhibition "Inventing the Future". The symposium will take place from November 4 to 6.
Tomorrow, the International RUSSIA EXPO will conclude its work. From November 2023 to July 2024, it was visited by more than 18 million guests.
Every day, for eight months, the RUSSIA EXPO delighted guests and gave unforgettable emotions.
