New agreements at the RUSSIA EXPO: Primorye region launches a grand sports project
The signing
ceremony of cooperation agreements between the Primorye region, the All-Russian
Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation
took place at the RUSSIA EXPO on the Sports Day.
The
participants of the signing ceremony were greeted by Oleg Matytsin, Minister of
Sport of Russia: "Today we are honored to represent the achievements of
Russian sports and the domestic school of sports, and, of course, the signing
of these agreements is a very important part of today's celebration. Because
the task set by the President of the Russian Federation - to provide our
citizens with comfortable conditions for sports - is being fulfilled, and we
are happy when we are in such a commonwealth, and we are proud of our successes
and look with confidence into the future. I want to thank you for your
teamwork, because teamwork and team spirit today is probably more important
than ever. Let the new gymnastics center give joy to thousands of boys and
girls who will look up to our Olympic champions. Fare thee well!".
The
cooperation necessary for further development of gymnastics in the Primorye
region, including on the basis of the modern Gymnastics Center in Vladivostok,
was announced by the participants of the signing at the Meeting of the
Presidential Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports, which
was held in October 2023.
"Here
in Primorye we are embarking on a grandiose project. On the instructions of our
President, a Federal Sports and Training Center will be created in Vladivostok,
which will include development centers for artistic and rhythmic gymnastics,
hockey, boxing, water sports, athletics, tennis, and the Center for artistic
and rhythmic gymnastics is the first swallow in the halo of these sports
facilities. It is very important for us that our athletes are trained in gyms
of such level. And we see that the Pacific Ocean and Primorye bring good luck:
for example, our Primorye gymnast Lilia Akhaimova became an Olympic champion in
Tokyo. That is why we have done everything to make this project happen, so that
stars would light up more often and lead us to new victories," said Oleg
Kozhemyako, Governor of the Primorye region.
Prospects
of cooperation under the agreements cause joy and enthusiasm of all its participants.
"I
want to thank the Governor of the Primorye region, who has created all
conditions for us to prepare for the Olympic Games, and for training, and for
food, and for medical care for our children. He is involved in everything, and
just look at his figure - he is an athlete himself and swims across the Pacific
Ocean, I have seen it myself. So I am happy that now we will train in
Vladivostok, because it is a place of great strength and energy. And it's a
great happiness that now we will have our own gym, which we don't have to share
with anyone, as we did before. And we will be happy to hold competitions there,
and maybe we will live there," said Irina Viner, President of the
All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation.
Participants of the signing ceremony also noted that domestic sports continue to develop actively despite the sanctions pressure.
"Our competitions that take place in the country are no worse in level, and often even better and brighter than any international ones, while international sport loses a lot from the fact that Russian athletes are not there. I can say this looking at the results of the last two World Championships in artistic gymnastics. We are moving forward, creating new infrastructure in very important parts of our country, and the Far East is just such a place. And we are doing this with the aim that we will definitely return to international sport and we need and value this area of the world very much. I am sure that it will be a truly beautiful and powerful center of rhythmic and artistic gymnastics, which will be loved by the whole country," Vasily Titov, President of the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation, is convinced.
The first event to be held at the Russia National Centre, which is being established by the order of President Vladimir Putin, will be the International Science Fiction Symposium and Exhibition "Inventing the Future". The symposium will take place from November 4 to 6.
Tomorrow, the International RUSSIA EXPO will conclude its work. From November 2023 to July 2024, it was visited by more than 18 million guests.
Every day, for eight months, the RUSSIA EXPO delighted guests and gave unforgettable emotions.
