Breakthrough import substitution in the transport industry was discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO
Representatives of four Industrial Competence Centers (ICCs) and executors of projects on import substitution in the IT sphere in transport held a demo day "ICCs in Transport: From Import Substitution to High-Tech Export" at the RUSSIA EXPO. The achievements of the past two years were presented and plans for the future were outlined.
Polina Davydova, Director of the Association "Digital Transport and Logistics", spoke about the creation of Industrial Competence Centers: "A little less than two years ago, our Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin proposed an approach to solving the most pressing problem of import substitution at that time, instructing to create Industrial Competence Centers in each industry. Their task was to replace foreign solutions that had left Russia within a short period of time and further support import independence in critical areas. In the transport industry, four ICCs were established, which are now implementing 18 projects. Projects totaling 19.1 billion rubles are being undertaken within the framework of the "Transport" industry committee. All projects are created at the expense of the companies' own funds. A total of 36 companies are ordering solutions. To date, half of the projects have been completed, the remaining projects will be completed in 2024 and 2025".
Anton Matskevich, Deputy CEO for Information Technologies of PJSC Aeroflot, spoke about the projects of the Industrial Competence Center (ICC) "Aviation Transport".
"We currently have four projects in the works, two of them are actually completed. The amount of investment that Aeroflot has put into them is more than ten billion rubles. And we continue to work with our suppliers, even in terms of those projects that have already been completed, to improve them. One of the projects is the creation of a maintenance and repair system in our Russian system based on domestic components. In addition, we are implementing a domestic "Leonardo" ticket booking system," said Anton Matskevich.
Evgeny Charkin, Deputy Director General for Digital Transformation of JSC Russian Railways, emphasized the special feature of the "Railway Transport and Logistics" IRC: "Our ICC is unique in that all the companies included in it are different from each other. This is both a challenge and an opportunity for us to achieve solutions that are universal and suitable not only for our industry, but also for our colleagues in the industry."
During the presentation, he said that there are currently eight significant projects in the first wave, two of which are fully completed: a new generation system for cargo transportation, ETRAN, and a unified data model of the transportation process, which processes two and a half million events in the network every day. Work is also actively underway on the new-generation "Express" ticketing system.
Sergei Simonov, Deputy Director General of the Rosmorport Federal State Unitary Enterprise, spoke about the "Marine and River Transport" ICC, which unites eleven enterprises of the industry.
"ICC 'Marine and River Transport' unites eleven enterprises of the industry. But it turned out that the main role is played by Rosmorport. We are a strategic enterprise and owners of coastal port infrastructure facilities: lighthouses, water areas and a fleet of 254 vessels. The main efforts of our company within the framework of the ICC were aimed at replacing foreign software in ship traffic control systems. We have already successfully implemented our first project of import substitution of this software, replacing it with a Russian program from Sitronics company," said Sergei Simonov, Deputy Director General of Rosmorport Federal State Unitary Enterprise.
Kirill Alifanov, Deputy Director General for Information Technologies at Sheremetyevo International Airport, said during the event that the company has no goal to sell developed solutions: "Sheremetyevo is the head of the "Airports" ICC. And the solutions that are developed there are implemented extensively. The baggage search system we presented, which was developed by Regional Airports company, is already operating in 54 airports and is handling a large flow of luggage. The system of universal access to check-in counters ARCute, which replaced foreign analogs, also works in dozens of locations".
The demo day also included the session "ICC: Universal Cross-Industrial Mechanism", where they talked about the application of solutions based on artificial intelligence in the transport industry, the creation of an ecosystem of industrial software and hardware complexes, and more.
Besides, there was a pitching session of startups "On the Way to the Future" on self-service baggage check-in systems, collision avoidance for career transport and optimization of wireless coverage of 5G networks based on antenna systems and repeaters.
