The panel discussion "Visual Code of Russia" to be held at the National Centre RUSSIA
A panel discussion titled "Visual Code of Russia" will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA on 24 December at 18:00. The event will bring together leading experts in public communications, design, architecture, and territorial branding to discuss the development of a unified visual code for the country.
As the role of visual communication grows in public policy and international positioning, the issue of creating a coherent visual language for Russia is becoming increasingly relevant. A unified visual code is viewed as a tool for strengthening national identity, cultural cohesion, and trust in public institutions, as well as an important element of the country’s strategic development.
Special attention during the discussion will be given to the work of the Council for the Development and Promotion of a New Russian Style at the National Centre RUSSIA, the objectives of the "Communication Design" working group, and the outcomes of the recent meeting of the Council for the Development of the country’s architectural code. Participants will discuss how visual language can reflect the values, goals, and strategic course of the state, and how it should be applied across various areas — from the urban environment and transport to digital platforms and cultural projects.
Key discussion topics include:
— Why does Russia need a unified visual code, and why is it becoming an integral part of public communication today?
— How can visual language reflect the country’s values, goals, and strategic course?
— What does the concept of a "visual code" include, what is its structure, and in which areas should it be applied?
— How can national and regional characteristics be combined within a single visual system so that it becomes a living tool of communication and cultural identity?
— Which examples of territorial branding, urban initiatives, and design projects are already shaping a new Russian style today?
The discussion will focus on effective tools for shaping Russia’s visual code, the development of public communication, and the search for practical solutions for creating a new Russian style.
