Guests of the new excursion route at the RUSSIA EXPO explore the path of Russian cosmonautics
On April
11, the exposition launched the “Conquerors of Space” route - a new excursion
from the Rosmolodezh program “More than a Trip.” Its opening coincides with the
celebration of Cosmonautics Day. The route introduces tourists to the history
of space exploration, talks about the country’s key space projects and inspires
them to new achievements.
The first
“space” excursion was conducted by Ksenia Kirsanova, a guide and “conductor of
meanings” of the Rosmolodezh program “More than a Trip”.
“It is
symbolic that the space route started on the eve of Cosmonautics Day. Once
again we were ahead of our time, becoming part of a great history! The RUSSIA
EXPO talks about the first space flight, outstanding personalities - cosmonauts
and rocket designers, modern enterprises contributing to the exploration of the
Universe! And although not every one of us is connected with space, this short
journey will definitely inspire guests to new achievements and victories.
Together with the “conductors of meanings”, you will travel at the first cosmic
speed along a fascinating path - you will learn vivid facts from the history of
Russian cosmonautics and set off to conquer the peaks!” noted Ksenia.
The gallery
of achievements introduced the excursion participants to the contemporary
successes in the field of cosmonautics, including the construction of the
youngest Vostochny Cosmodrome in the Amur region. In the museum-apartment of
Sergei Korolev, an outstanding designer and scientist, the founder of practical
cosmonautics, guests learned about how the ideas for launching the first
artificial Earth satellite and the first manned flight into space were born and
brought to life.
One of the
excursion participants, Marina Bankova, shared her impressions of the
“Conquerors of Space” route:
“I was very
impressed by the house-museum of academician Sergei Korolev. I’ve been to VDNH
many times, but only today, on the excursion, I learned from a guide, a
“conductor of meanings,” that there is such a museum here. The details of the
lives of great people are always interesting: what were the relationships in
the family, their character traits. But first of all, I came on the excursion
to find out what achievements our country has had in space exploration over the
past decades.”
In Pavilion No. 75, the participants of the tour went on an exciting journey through the regions of Russia, describing the contribution to the development of the space industry of each of them. In addition, the group saw the Soyuz MS-18 spacecraft - it was the one that brought to space cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, director Klim Shipenko and actress Yulia Peresild to film one of the most sensational dramas of 2023, “Challenge”.
The final location of the route is the Cosmonautics and Aviation Center at VDNH - the largest thematic museum in Russia, where you can study in detail, for example, models of the Mir orbital station and the Angara launch vehicle.
The large-scale "Journey Across Russia" project will launch at the National Centre RUSSIA on March 1.
