"Shield, arsenal and outpost of Russia": Day of the Tula Region at the RUSSIA EXPO
On January 10, the Day of the Tula Region was held at the International RUSSIA EXPO. Governor Alexei Dyumin made a presentation of the region's main achievements and innovative plans. A rich cultural and educational program with many excursions, lectures, film screenings, concerts and masterclasses was presented to the guests of the Exposition.
The territory of the Tula region is home to the most important industries of the country - more than 20 defense enterprises are successfully operating here, agriculture, construction, science, chemical industry and automotive industry are actively developing. In such areas as industrial production, agriculture and investment, the region demonstrates indicators above the national average, as noted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. With the support of the head of state, the industrial sector of the Tula region received 12 billion rubles from the federal budget in 2023. As a result, at the end of the first nine months of 2023, the region ranked fifth in terms of industrial production growth in Russia.
"Tula has many names. And each one reflects its rich history, full of military and labor feats. It is a shield and arsenal, an outpost of Russia. The place where the defense industry began to emerge since Peter the Great times - that's why Tula is the arms capital", — said Alexei Dyumin.
According to First Deputy Minister of Culture Sergei Obryvalin, the Tula region is one of the most dynamically developing regions of Russia, and Tula itself rightfully bears the proud title of the third museum capital of the country.
"The cultural sector is being actively improved here, and Tula itself rightfully bears the proud title of the third museum capital of Russia. Thanks to Alexei Dyumin's personal initiative, a unique museum quarter that has no analogues in Russia has been opened in Tula. Such a big undertaking would not have been possible without the Governor's personal involvement. We highly appreciate the long-term and fruitful cooperation with the team of the Tula region and its readiness to solve the most ambitious tasks for the benefit of Russian culture", — said Sergei Obryvalin.
Within the framework of the tasks set by the President of Russia, the Tula region is also actively developing high-tech industry and transportation infrastructure. In the social sphere, in recent years under the federal program initiated by the head of state, 50 thousand square meters of emergency housing stock has been resettled in the region, which allowed to provide 2.5 thousand people with new housing. In addition, 102 investment projects totaling over 395 billion rubles are being implemented in the region, which will create more than 7 thousand jobs in the next 10 years.
Every year the region receives almost 1.5 million tourists, because there is really a lot to see here. Thanks to the multimedia exhibits of the Tula region's stand at the RUSSIA EXPO, visitors saw the region with their own eyes, taking an interactive journey through the historical center of Tula and the entire territory of the region. During the day there are also presentations of the cultural, historical and tourist potential of the region, thematic movie screenings, quests and creative meetings. Numerous and diverse workshops are presented not only at the stand, but also in other pavilions of the Exposition. Guests are taught how to paint Tula gingerbread, make a Filimonov New Year toy, weave beadwork and Belyov lace and even make their own perfume.
The House of Russian Cuisine offers cooking masterclasses and tea drinking from a Tula samovar. Besides, a gastronomic record was set here: confectioners presented a huge map of the Tula region made of the famous sweet - Belyov pastila. Tasting of the main traditional desserts of Tula residents also took place in the Department Store space.
Besides that, the best creative teams performed on the Main Street Stage of the Exposition with the Tula Winter program for Moscow citizens and guests of the capital, and the skating rink at VDNH became a venue for a master show by players of the Tula AKM hockey team.
