The first intake of the Young Tour Guides School of Russia will begin at the National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye on 27 September and will run until December. The participants will learn the basics of the profession under the guidance of experienced guides.

The project is designed for schoolchildren aged 12 to 17 and is aimed at career guidance, helping them to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for excursion activities. Applications must be submitted by 23 September, followed by a selection process. The first classes will start on 27 September and continue until December. The second intake of the Young Tour Guides School of Russia will start in February 2026.

One-hour lessons will take place on Saturdays at 15:00 at the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region and at the regional Tourist Information Centre. The course of the Young Tour Guides School of Russia focuses on career guidance and developing children’s skills, knowledge and abilities in excursion work.

The participants will attend:

— theoretical and practical classes on the basics of guiding;

— workshops led by experienced guides;

— training sessions on public speaking and stage speech;

— teamwork activities with peers;

— practical guiding of tours through the expositions of the branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye.

The Young Tour Guides School of Russia is a project for those who want to learn how to tell the story of their native region in an inspiring, accurate and engaging way.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors, the students will study the basics of stage speech, learn to work with information and design engaging routes, and, most importantly, will have the chance to conduct a real tour of the expositions of the Centre’s Primorye branch.

"The Young Tour Guides School of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region is an important social project aimed at career guidance, the promotion of local history and the guiding profession, including guide-interpreters. Classes at the School are held with the support of the Primorye branch of the Russian Geographical Society. The lectures cover legislation on organising and conducting tours, their methodology and techniques, innovations in guiding, and, of course, the history of the region and the city of Vladivostok," said Daria Guseva, Head of the Excursion Department of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region.

The project welcomes not only schoolchildren and students but also industry experts, who will share information about interesting sites of the city and the region.
