"Number three is my lucky one": China’s representative on his upcoming performance at "Intervision"
China’s representative Wang Xi will take part in the
International Music Contest "Intervision". The artist will perform
under number three, which, according to him, is his lucky number.
"I am very pleased with today’s draw. This time I came
to Russia and I see that Moscow is a very beautiful city. Since childhood, I
have been familiar with Russian musical traditions, particularly the song
'Moscow Nights'. In general, I would like to say that in China young people are
well acquainted with Russian musical art," said Wang Xi.
At the contest, the performer will present the song "On
the Way", which has already gained popularity among Chinese audiences. The
originally announced track "At the Horizon" was replaced with a more
well-known composition from the artist’s repertoire, which is in line with the
contest rules. The theme of the song reflects the search for and discovery of
refuge, emphasising the beauty of the state of "being on the way".
Wang Xi actively takes part in music competitions and
television shows, having won around twenty prestigious awards, including a
prize at the 8th Chinese Music Awards "Golden Bell" and victory in
the 15th CCTV National Young Singers Contest in the "Popular Music"
category. He has also performed in the shows "I Am a Singer" and
"Super Voice". The artist speaks several languages and performs songs
in English, Spanish and Italian. His discography includes seven mini-albums,
with "Unspoken", "Temptation of Low C" and "Ode"
considered his signature works. In addition to music, Wang Xi occasionally
appears in films, which makes him a versatile artist.
