65 years ago the USSR participated in the World Expo for the first time after the Great Patriotic War
65 years ago, the first World Expo after World War II was held in Brussels. The Soviet pavilion attracted the most guests and received the highest award.
At Expo 58 the Soviet Union presented stands united by a common theme — "Peace and Labor". The main feature of the pavilion were exact copies of the first two artificial satellites of the Earth. Visitors to the exposition, as well as the jury, highly appreciated the Soviet display. They were particularly impressed by the machinery. Grand Prix of the exposition was awarded to a large passenger airplane Tu-114, legendary sedan GAZ-21 and truck GAZ-52.
The stand of Soviet radio electronics also received 25 awards. Gold and silver medals were awarded to the "Leningrad" rangefinder camera, photographic lenses, Vologda lace and much more.
In total, the Soviet pavilion received 30 million people — the largest number of visitors among all participants. The USSR pavilion was awarded the highest honor from the jury of the Expo 58 — the Gold Star.
The modern achievements of the country will be presented no less brilliantly at the International RUSSIA EXPO, where all 89 regions, as well as federal authorities, representatives of large corporations, public associations and foreign countries will present their stands.
