How to render first aid to a person: medical students will hold a masterclass for Exposition guests
20.02.2024
On February 24, medical teachers and students of the Vladivostok Basic Medical College will hold practical classes on first aid at the Primorye region stand within the National Achievements Forum: Health, including the methods of applying hemostatic bandages and tourniquets, and the need for annual medical check-ups.
During the "Just Don't Miss" masterclass on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) young doctors will not only tell about the algorithm of rendering first aid, but will also vividly demonstrate resuscitation actions on a mannequin with the help of medical simulators. At the end of the workshop participants will receive a certificate of successful mastering of the CPR algorithm.
In addition, the stand will host practical workshops on the correct measurement of blood pressure (BP) and the degree of risk of cardiovascular diseases. All visitors will be given the result of BP measurement with a note about the need to undergo medical examination or visit a general practitioner.
For women, there will be a class on breast examination for early detection of neoplasms with the help of a simulator. And for men, medical students will hold a masterclass on newborn care with training in different ways of swaddling an infant. Participants will receive a commemorative sticker "Ready to be a Father!" and a certificate of completion of the young parent's course.
Children will be offered to take part in the "Assemble a Human Correctly" LEGO-construction masterclass using a training device with removable internal organs.
