The country’s technological sovereignty was discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO
At the plenary session "Opportunities of the Future:
Technological Leadership in Industry" experts discussed the prospects of
launching the updated national project "Development of Production of New
Materials and Chemical Products" in 2025. The event was organized with the
participation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation
and the State Corporation Rosatom.
In his Address to the Federal Assembly, the President set
ambitious goals: "Technological sovereignty projects should become the motor of
updating our industry, help the entire economy to reach the advanced level of
efficiency and competitiveness". In this regard, the session participants
discussed what breakthrough solutions await the domestic industry, how the
landscape and architecture of the industry will change by 2030, what the
regulator and market participants are betting on, how import substitution of
critical chemical products is going, what citizens will get as a result of the
planned transformations, and also talked about the introduction of high-tech
solutions in modern domestic industry, the development of new materials and
chemistry, additive technologies and robotics.
"We can confidently say that the domestic chemical industry
is worthily responding to the challenges that time dictates. Since 2000, the
volume of production of basic chemical products has doubled, per capita
consumption of plastics has increased five and a half times, more than 700
industry development projects have been implemented, and the total volume of
investments has more than tripled this year, exceeding one trillion rubles. All
previous goals have been achieved, and now there are more ambitious goals — to
achieve an increase in production by more than two and a half times," said
Artur Smirnov, Director of the Department of Chemical Industry of the Ministry
of Industry and Trade of Russia.
Successful implementation of the new national project is
impossible without solving the problems that continue to hold back the
development of the industry, and first of all people should be in the focus of
attention, said Artur Smirnov: "Today the number of people employed in the
chemical complex exceeds 600 thousand people. However, even with this number of
specialists, many enterprises have a high demand for professional staff.
Therefore, we must provide training of specialists with higher and specialized
secondary education in the specialties demanded by the industry. We must also
awaken interest in chemistry among schoolchildren to ensure an influx of specialists
in the future. And this is the responsibility not only of the state, but also
of chemical companies".
The topic
of qualified specialists and key challenges that the training system will face
in the near future was continued by Maria Vasilkova, a member of the State Duma
Committee on Industry and Trade of the Federal Assembly of the Russian
Federation.
"Chemistry and new materials is a basic industry, because
one job in the chemical industry creates eight jobs in related industries. But
technological leadership also requires technological transition, so
qualification requirements, quality of jobs are changing, and today the issue
of staffing becomes a priority. But at the same time we should talk about
qualified personnel, who will have the necessary competencies to meet modern
demands," emphasized Maria Vasilkova.
Representatives of industry companies and corporations
shared their regional experience in training and cultivation of personnel with
their colleagues. They also spoke about the prospects of work in other key
areas — implementation of import-substitution projects, formation of new
markets, development of related industries.
Andrei Shevchenko, Director for Technological Development of
Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation, Alexei Belyakov, Vice President,
Executive Director of the Space Technologies and Telecommunications Cluster of
the Skolkovo Foundation, Salis Karakotov, CEO of Shchelkovo Agrochem JSC,
Mikhail Danilov, CEO of August Firm JSC, Sergei Merzlyakov, CEO of Orgsintez
Group PJSC, Mikhail Sutiansky, founder of Titan Group of Companies, and others
also took part in the panel session.
The National Centre RUSSIA will host a series of presentations titled "Journey Across Russia's Gastronomic Festivals."
The National Centre RUSSIA today meets the needs of various professional communities for communication and exchange of experience.
During the tour of the expansive exposition, the Chairman of the Government highlighted the significance of the display.
