Ivan Vagner, pilot-cosmonaut, Hero of Russia, will meet with visitors of the Arkhangelsk region's stand at the International RUSSIA EXPO. Everyone will be able to take part in the autograph session, which will be held on the Cosmonautics Day, April 12, at 16:00.
It is not the first time that the cosmonaut meets with fans at the stand of the region, where, according to him, it was possible to collect many different achievements of Pomorie. A special pride of the Arkhangelsk region is the First State Test Cosmodrome Plesetsk - the northernmost in the world and the only one in the European part of Russia. Ivan Vagner is also a native of the Plesetsk district, he was born in the small village of Severonezhsk and from childhood he dreamed of tying his life to cosmonautics.
For the first time Ivan Vagner went to the ISS on April 9, 2020. Together with Anatoly Ivanishin and astronaut Christopher Cassidy, he spent 196 days in orbit and returned to Earth on October 22 of the same year.
In addition to the autograph session, throughout the day the guests of the Arkhangelsk region's stand will enjoy various masterclasses, quizzes and creative meetings prepared by the residents of Mirny, where the Plesetsk Cosmodrome is located. The Exposition visitors of all ages will find something to their liking.
Thus, listeners of the lecture "History of the Cosmodrome and the City" will learn new facts from the history of the foundation of the Plesetsk Cosmodrome and the city of Mirny, and will also take part in the "Cosmonautics Day" quiz. The virtual excursion "City of Space Launches" will also introduce guests to the history of the Plesetsk Cosmodrome and reveal the secrets of creating wooden models of the Russian North made by Mirny resident Alexander Ageev. Meanwhile, the mini planetarium "Interactive Learning Globe" will offer an opportunity to make a space journey and learn useful information about Russian cosmodromes.
