Days of the Republic of Karelia concluded at the National Centre RUSSIA
The Republic of Karelia Days were held at the National
Centre RUSSIA from 26 January to 1 February. The event became part of the
programme of the thematic regional days at the "Book of Fairy Tales"
exposition.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of Karelia's
development strategy, delivered by the Head of the Republic, Artur
Parfenchikov. In the course of the thematic programme "Region–2030. The
Republic of Karelia", he announced that the region had made a significant
leap in the national investment attractiveness ranking, moving from 56th place
into the top 20, and spoke about the development of the Arctic zone, which
covers 40% of the Republic’s territory, and the creation of conditions for
comfortable living and working.
"A large number of investment projects are currently
being implemented in the republic. The total investment volume exceeds 150
billion roubles, and it is expected to create 12,000 jobs under these projects.
They span various sectors: stone extraction and processing, forestry, high-tech
manufacturing, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, and tourism. Significant
investments are planned for tourism projects. Today, Karelia is attractive to
investors, and we strive to create economic and legal incentives for those who
invest in the republic's development," said Artur Parfenchikov.
A cooperation agreement was signed by the Head of the
Republic of Karelia, Artur Parfenchikov, and the Chief of the Main Headquarters
of the All-Russian Movement Yunarmiya (Young Army), Vladislav Golovin. The
document formalises collaboration and envisages the implementation of joint
programmes in the youth patriotic education. Artur Parfenchikov stated that the
movement's main headquarters supports Karelia, and the republic's young
residents engage with the ideas of Yunarmiya very responsibly and
enthusiastically.
The regional branch of Yunarmiya has been active in Karelia
for 10 years. The Chief of Main Headquarters, Vladislav Golovin, noted that the
movement instils stable values in its participants: "Yunarmiya members
understand the importance of preserving our history, memory, culture, and state
values. Regardless of the profession they are going to choose in the future,
the children understand the importance of serving the Motherland."
As part of the thematic week, the National Centre RUSSIA
welcomed a delegation of five large families from the Republic of Karelia. The
trip to Moscow took place at the invitation of the head of the region. The
families received certificates for attending the Republic of Karelia Days last
year, during an awards ceremony.
Before the start of the excursion programme, Artur
Parfenchikov met with the parents from the large families and their children.
The trip participants thanked the head of the republic for the opportunity to
take the whole family to see the capital.
"The main value of the Republic of Karelia is its
people, and, of course, large families. I thank all parents with a deep bow –
for your contribution to raising children, introducing them to cultural and
spiritual values. You are raising worthy citizens of Russia," said Artur
Parfenchikov.
Furthermore, at the invitation of the Government of the
Republic of Karelia, schoolchildren from the sponsored Vasilyevsky municipal
district of the Zaporozhye region took part in an extensive sightseeing
programme in Moscow. On the final day of the trip, the children met with the
head of the region at the National Centre RUSSIA, and visited the "Journey
Across Russia" exposition together with him. During the programme
"Dialogue of Equals", Artur Parfenchikov told the guests about the
traditions, culture, gastronomic brands, and main attractions of the northern
republic.
"Karelia is a unique land, Russia's northern shield,
preserving great chapters of military history. I am confident that
during your lives, you will visit many regions of our country, and I hope
each of you discovers our hospitable republic," the head of Karelia
addressed the young people.
The next region to present its thematic days at the National
Centre RUSSIA will be the Vologda region. We remind you that attending all
events at the National Centre RUSSIA is free of charge. Some of them require
