To mark the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, more than 200 events have already been held across the country, with over 50 million people taking part. This was reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova at a meeting of the Council for Interethnic Relations dedicated to summing up the results of the Year. According to her, one of the brightest events was the All-Russian Wedding Festival “Russia. Uniting Hearts” of the National Centre RUSSIA, which brought together couples from different regions of the country.

"All regions are taking part in the implementation of the Year’s events. This confirms the nationwide character of the Year and shows that the meanings embedded in it have found a response and understanding among all citizens of our country <...> When planning, priority was given to significant events symbolising the unity of the peoples of Russia and to heroes whose military and labour feats embody this unity <...> To date, more than 200 events have been held as part of the Year, with more than 50 million people taking part. Behind these figures are meaningful events, meetings, and initiatives that unite Russians. The brightest events with the greatest reach were the International Festival of Youth, the All-Russian Wedding Festival ‘Russia. Uniting Hearts,’ the federal educational marathon ‘Znanie. Firsts,’ the All-Russian campaigns ‘Russia — a Family of Families,’ ‘Night at the Museum,’ and others," said Tatyana Golikova.

She emphasised that, in the face of external challenges, strengthening the unity of Russian identity is of particular importance for preserving the political stability and territorial integrity of the country. Tatyana Golikova noted that the resilience of interethnic relations is the result of a consistent state national policy that takes into account the common historical destiny of the peoples of Russia, and assured that the Government will continue to implement the new Strategy in light of existing challenges and threats, and will fulfil all the tasks and instructions set by the President.

The All-Russian Wedding Festival "Russia. Uniting Hearts" is an original project of the National Centre RUSSIA aimed at popularising family values and preserving the wedding traditions of the country’s peoples. The III festival, held on 8–9 July 2026 and timed to coincide with the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity, was attended by more than 180 couples. For the first time, couples from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia joined the Russian newlyweds. The festive programme brought together the wedding rites and customs of different peoples, a procession of newlyweds through Moscow, themed events, masterclasses, and the musical and choreographic performance "Khorovod. The Wedding."
