Iron will: Roman Kostomarov met with guests of the Made by Us pavilion
The Made by Us pavilion of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation hosted an open dialog "Iron Will and Technologies for Life" with Roman Kostomarov, Olympic champion in ice dancing. The athlete talked about motivation and the part modern Russian technologies play in his life. The event was held within the framework of the International RUSSIA EXPO at VDNH.
The figure skater shared how he got into ice dancing, talked about his training schedule and the challenges he faced. The athlete noted how important it is to continue fulfilling one's social roles despite external circumstances. Modern domestic technologies help with this. "Russian prostheses allow you to lead an active lifestyle and help you feel like a full-fledged person," he noted.
Roman Kostomarov told how bionic prostheses from Motorika company make it possible to regularly engage in sports: skating, playing lawn tennis and going to the gym. In the future, thanks to the innovations of the domestic industry, the athlete plans to try out boxing.
The rehabilitation industry in Russia is actively progressing: there are already a lot of large-scale specialized production facilities across the country. Domestic enterprises are ready to provide technical solutions in all segments of the industry that are not inferior to foreign analogs.
For example, Motorika has been researching and developing active traction and bionic prostheses for children and adults with upper limb amputations at the hand and forearm level for almost ten years. Modern technologies of industrial 3D printing with plastic and metal are used in production.
In the Made by Us pavilion Roman Kostomarov got acquainted with other domestic technologies and especially noted the latest achievements in the field of mechanical engineering: interactive models of helicopters and airplanes, as well as the chassis of the Aurus car. "I am grateful to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the opportunity to see all this," he commented.
During the open dialog the guest answered the questions of young skaters and talked about his upcoming career plans. The athlete does not plan to coach yet, but continues to participate in ice shows in a new status (guest star) and does not rule out the possibility of holding open lectures and seminars on motivation and willpower.
