Magadan region
The territory of Magadan region is the 11th largest in Russia in terms of area and is 462500 square kilometres. The distance to Moscow is 7110 kilometres.
The population of the Magadan region data as of 01.01.2022 is 137800 people. Among the indigenous peoples are the Even, Chukchi, Koryak, and Yukaghir.
There are 9 municipalities in the region: Olsky, Omsukchan, North-Even, Srednekansky, Susumansky, Tenkinsky, Khasynsky, Yagodninsky, and Magadan.
Magadan region belongs to the Far North regions. The duration of winter is from 6 to 7.5 months. The thermometer in the central districts of the region falls below minus 40-50 degrees.

The main theme in the decoration of the Magadan region New Year tree is, of course, gold mining - the main source of the region's wealth. The spruce is decorated with imitated gold nuggets, which are supported by garlands of gold balls.
