Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)
The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is the largest subject of the Russian Federation, which, in its natural and territorial conditions, has no analogues on the planet. This is a unique place in Russia, the northernmost territory, where all sectors of the economy are actively developing and the original culture is preserved. The capital of the republic, the city of Yakutsk, is the largest city in the world located in the permafrost zone.
The main goal of the exposition “Yakutia - the Universe of Olonkho” is to present Yakutia as a place where the most daring ideas come true, and a fairy tale becomes a reality. Folk traditions and culture are intertwined here with modern technologies and creative ideas.
In the open part of the Yakutia stand, the central place is occupied by the sacred tree of life Aal-Luk Mas, which is a symbol of the trinity of the world in Yakut culture. Next to the tree is the figure of a mighty warrior, whose name is world famous from the epic Olonkho - Nyurgun Bootur the Swift.
In the closed part of the stand, acquaintance with the main elements of the cultural code of Yakutia continues: the virtual Kharchaana (Yakut Snow Maiden or Snegoruchka) and her tour about the culture and life of Yakutia, the lord of the cold Chyskhaan and his mythological image of the Bull of Cold, the epic Olonkho in a digital rendition can be found there. Information panels and screens present the most significant achievements and key projects of the region, as well as tourist routes around Yakutia.
