Caspian pearl. Astrakhan region
The
flowerbed is an exposition of the Astrakhan region — a reflection of the
region's tourist, industrial and logistic sectors. In the center of the
exposition there is a cargo ship and a rectangular frame as a symbol of
transport and logistics potential of the largest center of international
economic relations of Russia on the Caspian Sea. The bluish flowers at the base
of the exposition are the embodiment of the Volga River — the longest river in
Europe, in the delta of which one can see a unique plant of the region — lotus,
as well as catch another symbol of the region — vobla.
Next to the
installation there is a sign with a QR code, when you point your phone camera
at it, an augmented animated reality appears. Here you can see bright and juicy
watermelons, for which the Astrakhan region is famous. You can touch a live
sturgeon - it sways its tail and is ready to tell how the population of these
unique fish is reproduced in the region. You can also watch how the real
Caspian rose — the red-listed lotus - blooms.
And here
you can also see the Astrakhan Kremlin — a unique architectural monument
included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, read more about the region by
clicking on the coat of arms of the Astrakhan region. And feel yourself a
participant of container loading on a cargo ship. The region is famous for its shipyards. It is
in the Astrakhan region that unique dry cargo ships of domestic design are
built, as well as other vessels for Russian and foreign partners.
International
cooperation has been developing here for many centuries — the region is
multicultural and multinational, trade along the Great Silk Road has now transformed
into a modern international transport corridor "North-South", the route of
which can also be viewed by clicking on the map located among the augmented
reality objects.
