Legends of the Five Lakes. Omsk region
The exposition is dedicated to the five lakes of the Omsk region: Danilovo, Linevo, Shchuchye, Urmannoe (Shaitan Lake), and Potaennoe
Lake — located in the northern part of the region.
According to legends, the Five Lakes have a meteoric origin
and are connected by an underground river. They are attributed with mystical
and healing properties. One version of the story suggests that a meteorite that
fell on Okunevo split into five parts, creating huge depressions that later
filled with water, giving birth to the magical Five Lakes. Many believe the
lake water is holy, as it is impeccably clean, does not spoil or bloom, and
cures many diseases.
The floral composition of the Omsk region is based on
contrasting combinations of perennial herbaceous plants and elements
symbolizing the Five Lakes. In the center, there is a bend of the river. Pines
grow on the steep bank, and in the lowland lies one of the five lakes. The lake
reflects the forest and the clear blue sky. The Five Lakes are hidden from view
as a secret, unexplored place.
The exposition features mountain pine, tufted hairgrass
"Northern Lights", great burnet Tanna, and decorative elements.
