Bridge to the future. Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)
The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is a rapidly developing region, rich not only in mineral resources but also in human capital and national traditions. In its development strategy, special attention is given to the coastal and marine component: the development of the Northern Sea Route, conducting scientific research, applying new technologies in the coastal zone, and preserving unique natural objects and biodiversity in the adjacent waters of the World Ocean.
The
centerpiece of the region’s floral composition at the RUSSIA EXPO is a bridge.
This is a large-scale infrastructure project unparalleled in global bridge
construction. The Lena River is the largest river in Russia whose basin lies
entirely within the country. It is also the largest river in the world that
flows entirely within the permafrost zone.
In the
exposition, the bridge connects the riverbanks, with its course running through
mountain ranges glittering with gold and precious stones, and across plains
where Yakuts, holding hands, dance the great sun dance Osoukhai in a massive
round dance. Dwarf trees symbolize the remarkable nature of the northern
region. The bridge in the composition is a connecting link between different
banks, a link in the largest transportation hub of the Northern Sea Route, and
a bridge to the future — technological, dynamic, and innovative.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
