Heart of the Textile Industry. Ivanovo Region
The Ivanovo region is the heart of the country's textile
industry. Today, it produces over 75% of all cotton and knitwear fabrics. The
revival of flax growing and processing is a priority for the region's
agro-industrial complex.
The exposition not only showcases the beauty of the Ivanovo region and its plant world but also highlights the historical past of the city and the modern development of the region. Small architectural forms with graphic depictions of factories reflect the architectural heritage of the area and its contemporary progress.
A pattern created by an unknown artist in 1900 served as inspiration for the project and forms the basis of the composition. This design is preserved in the collection of the Ivanovo Calico Museum, making the project even more unique. In the avant-garde era, red became the primary color in the palette of Russian artists, symbolizing folk traditions and the anticipation of upcoming changes.
As plant symbols, the Ivanovo region chose the daisy, flax, fireweed, and reed grass. The daisy, a symbol of Russian tenderness and beauty, grows abundantly in fields and became the embodiment of the Ivanovo bride (Ivanovo is often called the city of brides).
Flax is a plant every resident of Ivanovo is familiar with. Historically, flax
was grown in these parts as the primary raw material for fabrics. Clothing,
porridge, seeds for salads, and garden plants—everyone in the Ivanovo region
has something related to flax. The "Flax Palette" festival remains
relevant today, attracting guests and designers from all over Russia.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
