Carpet, dowry and songs: A wedding according to the traditions of Siberian old-settlers was held at the RUSSIA EXPO
A wedding according to the traditions of Siberian old-settlers was held at the RUSSIA EXPO. Roman and Angelina, residents of Tyukalinsk, got married. More than a century ago, their city was Tyukalinsky uyezd (district) — the place where old-settlers of the Omsk region lived.
«It was important for us to hold a wedding in the traditional costumes of our ancestors. And to do it in the most organic and unusual place at the same time,» the newlyweds shared.
The groom works as a client manager at Sberbank, and the bride works as an obstetrician at the city polyclinic. Representatives of Sberbank presented the newlyweds with a gift — a trip to the Altai year-round resort of Manzherok.
The wedding was held in accordance with the traditions of the old-settlers. Among them — solemn gatherings, dowry and handing over of the bride to the groom. All this was accompanied by folk songs. The guests of the ceremony also saw old-settlers costumes and a traditional carpet for blessing the bride and groom.
This is not the only wedding that was held at the International RUSSIA EXPO. Alexander and Alyona Andreichenko, employees of the Vostochny Cosmodrome, were the first to get married here. Weddings according to the traditions of Yakutia, Buryatia and others were also held at the exposition. In total, more than 40 weddings are planned.
