Huge diamond, dinosaur and prayer wheels: what regional flowerbeds at the "Future in Flowers" festival impress with
The "Future in Flowers" festival features not only the most beautiful flowers and plants of Russia but also bright symbols of the country's regions: from architectural monuments to animals. Here, we tell you which flowerbed showcases a dinosaur, where to find a huge diamond or sacred prayer wheels.
ARKHANGELSK REGION
The flowerbed exposition of the region is worth a long and thorough look. Pomorie is a land of ancient and modern history, unique culture and white-stone monasteries. Shipbuilding, timber processing, diamond mining and Arctic exploration are all developed here. All of this is reflected in the Arkhangelsk exposition. Models of ships, submarines and space rockets, a glacier with a polar bear, churches and wooden houses. The main highlight is a huge diamond, symbolizing the region's diamond mining industry.
KALMYKIA
The Kalmykia flowerbed exposition symbolizes respect for traditions and spiritual values, the development of culture and harmony in society. The key element is mirrored arches, symbolizing the Universe and the human being under its protection. Another important detail is flagpoles with ribbons. This refers to a local tradition - you tie a ribbon, sending a wish into the Universe, where it is carried by the wind. The exposition also features prayer wheels - an important Buddhist symbol. The main plants are wormwood, sage and feather grass, typical for the steppe region.
KEMEROVO REGION
At the "KuZbass" flowerbed, guests are greeted by an unusual creature, very cute and resembling both a dinosaur and a parrot. In fact, it is a Psittacosaurus sibiricus - a type of ancient parrot-lizard. It became the region's symbol at the RUSSIA EXPO and appeared on the flowerbed for a reason. Psittacosaurus lived precisely in the territory of Kuzbass and only there. By the way, the dinosaur is surrounded by ferns - amazing plants that appeared on Earth about 400 million years ago. Ferns are still widespread in the region's forests. You can even find them in the center of the regional capital, Kemerovo, where a relic taiga covering more than 400 hectares has been preserved.
