The presentation of the report "Shaping a New Platform for Global Growth" based on the results of the Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth," a lecture on artefacts of the Great Patriotic War, and other events of the past week – all in our digest.

June 16. Presentation of the report following the Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth"

A press conference dedicated to the presentation of the report "Shaping a New Platform for Global Growth," based on the outcomes of the first international Open Dialogue, was held on June 16 at the National Centre RUSSIA.

The Open Dialogue of the National Centre RUSSIA, "The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth," held in April 2025, received 696 essays from authors and experts from more than 100 countries. The submitted works covered four areas: investments in human capital, technologies, connectivity, and environment. The participants explored global changes and prospects for the development of the world economy, with a particular focus on the countries of the global majority. The best ideas were compiled into a 100-page report.

"We reached out to the global expert community, inviting them to share their hypotheses on the future of the world economy — and received nearly 700 essays from over 100 countries. It became a true intellectual brainstorming session, revealing diverse viewpoints yet a shared understanding of the need for a new growth model. The demand for the Open Dialogue format was evident, and we have decided to make it a regular event. The next meeting will take place in 2026 here at the National Centre RUSSIA. And already on June 18, during SPIEF 2025, we will continue the discussion at the session 'Shaping a New Platform for Global Growth'," said Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, Natalia Virtuozova.

The report "Shaping a New Platform for Global Growth" was prepared by the Centre for Cross-Industry Expertise "Third Rome." The document proposes alternative models of global development, with a focus on human-centred approaches, technological advancement and sustainability.

"I am grateful to the National Centre RUSSIA for the opportunity to take part in such a large-scale and significant project. Seven hundred submissions from one hundred countries represent the voice of the global majority. In a changing world, nations that once remained in the shadows are coming to the fore. The term 'countries of the global majority', which we have introduced, includes not only BRICS, but all the nations that hold the key to the future," said Natalia Stapran, Director of the Centre for Cross-Industry Expertise "Third Rome."

On June 18, the report was presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum during the opening session "Shaping a New Platform for Global Growth," moderated by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation, Maxim Oreshkin. Experts from Russia and other countries analysed the trends shaping the new architecture of the global economy, with the growing role of BRICS and the countries of the global majority.

June 19. Temporary exposition by NSUADA named after A. D. Kryachkov opened at "The Birth of Scale"

As part of "The Birth of Scale" exposition, a temporary display by the Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design and Arts named after A. D. Kryachkov was opened at the National Centre RUSSIA. It is divided into three sections, each reflecting an aspect of the university’s identity.

The first section, titled "The Heart of Russia," highlights Novosibirsk as a key transport hub and a centre integrating the eastern and western parts of Russia. The second section – "Laboratory of Science and Art" – showcases Novosibirsk’s scientific schools, renowned both in Russia and internationally. The third section, "New Horizons," focuses on projects aimed at developing and exploring new territories in Russia, including the creation of model public spaces.

The exposition features designs for libraries in Lugansk and the Lugansk region, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture as part of the implementation of the National Project "Culture."

"For the section 'Architectural Universities of Russia' within the exposition 'The Birth of Scale,' we selected unique projects, some of which have already been implemented. The educational system at our university is structured in such a way that each area of study has its own group of industrial partners — these are the companies that help adapt the curriculum to current demands in design-related competencies. In addition, each department hosts workshops where students have the opportunity to earn their first income by working on real commissions. Most of the projects on display were created in response to requests from industrial partners, government agencies and public authorities. We also place great emphasis on socially oriented projects," said Oksana Gaigerova, Head of the Department of Information Policy at NSUADA named after A. D. Kryachkov and curator of the exposition.

"The Birth of Scale" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA features both completed architectural projects and conceptual designs. The display includes materials from the National Centre’s own collection, as well as objects provided by museums and private collectors from across the country.

Those interested in learning more about Russian architecture can attend a series of educational lectures at the National Centre RUSSIA hosted by art historian Yelizaveta Likhacheva.

Partners of the exposition include DOM.RF, the Ministry of Construction of Russia, Gazprom, the State Museum of Architecture named after A. V. Shchusev, the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, the Yakov Chernikhov Architectural Fund, and the HSE Art and Design School.

Lecture "Mysteries of the Front. Artefacts of the Great Patriotic War" was held as part of the project Thursday.Development

The lecture "Mysteries of the Front: Artefacts of War" continued the original educational project Thursday.Development. The event was timed to the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow. Participants learned about recently discovered historical artefacts and heard fascinating wartime stories. The programme included talks by leading historians, analysis of rare surviving and newly declassified documents, and an open discussion with the audience on the importance of preserving the memory of our country’s heroic past.

The event was moderated by Yulia Kozlova, host of live broadcasts for the Russian society Znanie and chief moderator of Channel One. Speakers included Igor Permyakov, Director of the Russian State Archive of Contemporary History and Candidate of Historical Sciences; Sergei Sopelev, head of the civil-patriotic section of the Moscow branch of the Russian Military Historical Society, historian, political scientist, and Honorary Doctor of the Academy of the History of Labour and Industry; and Yury Ovsinsky, author of the projects "Moscow with Yury Ovsinsky," "Celebration with Yury Ovsinsky," and director of "The Most Important Necessary Film."

Igor Permyakov spoke about the history of rare documents that were never widely circulated. Sergei Sopelev discussed the events that preceded the Great Patriotic War. Yury Ovsinsky, who has worked with veterans of the Great Patriotic War since 2010, even produced a film about them. The speakers emphasised that events like these at the National Centre RUSSIA are essential for preserving and passing on the memory of heroes.

The National Centre RUSSIA’s original educational project Thursday.Development is a platform for live communication and idea exchange, offering engaging lectures in a science-pop format. Lectures are free of charge and available by prior registration on the National Centre RUSSIA’s website, russia.ru. Up-to-date information is available in the "Events" section.

June 21. Final of the 15th All-Russian Computer All-Around Championship among Pensioners was held

Participants demonstrated their skills in key areas of digital literacy. The programme included testing on software use, online services, basic financial literacy in the digital environment, smartphone operation, and information security. Special emphasis was placed on practical tasks that allowed participants to showcase their real-life skills in using computers and mobile devices. The main goal of the championship is to promote the active social adaptation of the older generation in the digital world.

The event brought together 206 regional stage winners from 76 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, including the new regions. Compatriots from 12 countries across several continents participated both in person and remotely. A special role in this year's championship was given to new participants — 35 veterans of combat operations and the Special Military Operation.

The event was organised by the All-Russian Public Organisation "Union of Pensioners of Russia" and the Russian State University of Social Technologies (RSU SocialTech). The final was held with the support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, the United Russia party, and the National Centre RUSSIA. Partners of the event included leading information security developer InfoWatch Group and the social network Odnoklassniki.

The anniversary championship was a unique event that united four generations of Russians in an unexpected field — digital literacy competitions. The oldest participant was 77 years old, while the youngest was 22.

"Our participants share one key quality — they are capable of learning, they know how to learn, and they love learning. It is this quality that enables them to overcome their limits. A healthy, fulfilling life — a priority of our national projects — is built on three pillars: intellect, physical activity, and engaging pursuits for the soul. Our participants, our finalists, are examples of perseverance. A worthy example," said Valery Ryazansky, Chairman of the Union of Pensioners of Russia.

This year's championship welcomed participants from across Russia: from 1,200 municipalities, stretching from Magadan to Lugansk and from Salekhard to Makhachkala, as well as compatriots from various countries — from the United Kingdom to Australia, from Finland to Tunisia.
