Golden wheat ears, outstanding people and "Snowflake": what regions showcase at the "Future in Flowers" festival
Flowerbed expositions not only showcase the flora and plants
of the regions but also present their achievements. Agriculture, science, robust industry and
talented people — come to the festival to discover what Russia takes pride in.
THE GRANARY OF RUSSIA: STAVROPOL REGION
Golden ears of wheat in the region's flowerbed immediately
draw the attention of visitors. Wheat symbolizes agricultural success. It’s no
secret that Stavropol, with its fertile black soil, is the granary of Russia.
The floral display of Stavropol also represents love for the land and a careful
attitude towards nature and its riches.
Interestingly, upon closer inspection, you can see that the
display not only features wheat ears but also the three stages of cereal
growth. The first tier shows the ear emergence phase, followed by flowering,
and finally, the grain formation phase. At the center of the composition is the
art object "Hands": hands made from semi-transparent white metal
mesh, folded in the shape of a heart, gently "holding" a bouquet of
golden wheat. The "heart" is filled with red roses, symbolizing love
and prosperity.
YAMAL: HERITAGE AND HORIZONS. YAMALO-NENETS AUTONOMOUS AREA
The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area is located in the Arctic
zone in the north of the West Siberian Plain. Most of its territory lies beyond
the Arctic Circle. The future of the region lies in this area, richly endowed
by nature with resources. However, their development requires advanced industry
and scientific approaches. Perhaps
this is why the region’s floral display features a model of the Yamal LNG gas
industry facilities, the Yuribey River bridge — the longest bridge crossing
beyond the Arctic Circle, and a model of the "Snowflake" research
station, where Arctic ecosystems will be studied. The composition is
complemented by figures of polar bears and walruses in their natural habitat,
as well as a reindeer herder's camp. These elements symbolize the careful
treatment of nature and the preservation of the traditions of local peoples.
WE ARE FROM UDMURTIA!
Udmurtia chose an original design for its flowerbed. The floral display is adorned with
an unusual art object — profiles of human faces. The idea is to show how
people create the past, present and future of the region. The people of
Udmurtia are its greatest wealth: the world-famous composer P.I. Tchaikovsky,
the leading weapons designer of the XX century M.T. Kalashnikov, the
cavalrywoman N.A. Durova and the Udmurt poet Kuzebay Gerd. Modern heroes of the
republic include athletes and scientists, rural workers and factory workers,
cultural figures, mothers of many children and many others.
One of the tracks of the Open Dialogue is "Investments in Human Capital." The pitch session on this topic brought together over 30 speakers.
One of the key topics for discussion within the initiative became "Investments in Connectivity," which attracted 24% of the essay authors about the future of the world.
The pitch sessions on four tracks took place at the National Centre RUSSIA on April 28, with the participation of authors whose essays were selected by the expert council of the National Centre.
